The name on the van belongs to a family, and the van comes up I-95 from Fairmont Lane
No Jacksonville office, no franchise, no call center. One family shop in Palm Coast that decided Duval was worth the drive and built its schedule around it.

Why there’s no Jacksonville storefront
The whole of Cook’s Air Conditioning & Heating Specialists operates from one building, 37 Fairmont Ln, Palm Coast, FL 32137, sixty miles south of the Main Street Bridge. There is no second address.
Cook’s does not list a Jacksonville suite number because it does not have one. The honest version is more useful to you anyway: you know where the parts are stocked, you know where the dispatcher is sitting, and you know the drive is a known quantity, so the arrival window you are quoted for Avondale or Oceanway is built from that drive rather than from an address on a sign.
What the single headquarters gives up in proximity it makes back in control. Every truck is loaded from one inventory, every schedule is built on one board, and the people who decide what to charge are the same people whose name is painted on the door.
The two first names in the reviews, and the crew behind them
This is a family-owned and family-operated company. Two first names come up constantly in our reviews, and they’re the same two people a Jacksonville customer is most likely to deal with.
Jerry runs sales. If you’re replacing a system in a 1926 San Marco house or a 2008 Baymeadows two-story, he’s the one who measures it, and he has a reputation for telling people they don’t need the bigger unit. Sean leads the technicians. The hard repairs, the coil swaps, the diagnoses that take two visits because the fault only shows up at 4 p.m. in August: those are his, or they belong to someone he trained.
Behind them is a crew of service, install and maintenance technicians who work Jacksonville as assigned sectors so the same faces come back to the same neighborhoods.
Lennox on the install, every brand on the repair
Cook’s is an authorized Lennox dealer. New systems we sell and install are Lennox, including the Healthy Climate air-quality products and the Ultimate Comfort System, and we’re certified for solar-compatible installs and ENERGY STAR equipment. For repairs, the brand on your nameplate doesn’t matter: a Carrier, a Bryant, a Trane or whatever a prior owner put in a Westside ranch in 1998 all get the same diagnosis.
Residential and commercial, Duval to Baker
Houses are most of what we do in Jacksonville, from the historic core to the newer subdivisions west of the Intracoastal. The company also takes commercial work, and Jacksonville has plenty of it: rooftop and split systems for offices along Southside Boulevard, retail near St. Johns Town Center, medical suites, and the small industrial buildings that cluster around the port and the rail lines.
The same dispatch board also carries Yulee, Callahan and Bryceville in Nassau County, and Baldwin, Macclenny, Glen St. Mary and Sanderson out along I-10. Those are longer drives still, and we schedule them in clusters so nobody waits on a single truck.
The dispatch reality, stated plainly
Seventy-four minutes to downtown is a fact we build around rather than hide. Maintenance visits in Jacksonville are booked in neighborhood groups. Ask when you book how an install day will be staged so the equipment arrives in one trip. Night calls go to the nearest available technician, and the dispatcher tells you how long that will be. No after-hours fee, no distance fee, and no claiming a truck is two streets away when it’s still on I-95.
Who you are hiring, in four answers
Who is Jerry, and will he be the one quoting my new system in Jacksonville?
Jerry owns the company and handles sales and system sizing. For a replacement in Jacksonville he’s typically the person walking your attic, and he does it himself rather than sending a commissioned salesperson.
Next time something breaks at my Ortega house, do I get the same technician?
We try hard to make that happen. Jacksonville is run as a set of sectors, and the technicians who work a sector learn its houses. Sean, our lead technician, either handles the difficult jobs himself or has trained the person who does.
Do you work on condo and office buildings, or just houses?
Both. Residential is the bulk of the Jacksonville calendar, and commercial work is part of it too: rooftop package units, splits and standing maintenance agreements for offices, retail and small industrial buildings across Duval.
How do you keep a 74-minute drive from turning into a two-day wait?
By never sending one truck for one call. Jacksonville days are planned as full routes, parts for this housing stock ride along, and emergency calls are handled by whoever is already closest; ask dispatch where that truck is starting from.
Rather talk to the owner?
Call the shop and ask for Jerry; he fields every replacement quote himself.
