Why the house picks the product

Jacksonville’s housing runs from 1900s Victorians to subdivisions finished last year, and no single system suits all of it. A gated Deerwood estate with two zones and a bonus room needs variable-speed equipment and zoning controls. A 1960s Arlington ranch with a sound shell and tired ducts needs a well-matched standard split system and new duct runs. A manufactured home outside Callahan needs a package unit built to sit on a pad in the open. A bungalow in Murray Hill may be best served without ducts at all.

The tiles below cover every category Cook’s installs. Jerry’s job, when he walks a house, is to narrow that list to one or two.

Lennox lines we install and warranty

Cook’s is an authorized Lennox dealer. That covers the full equipment range: air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces for the gas-served homes, mini-split systems, packaged systems, and the Lennox Healthy Climate indoor-air products. The Lennox Ultimate Comfort System ties the premium pieces together with controls that manage humidity as deliberately as temperature, which in this climate is the point.

Being the dealer also means we register the warranty, handle the paperwork and service what we sold. The company that installs the equipment is the one that comes back for it.

Built for salt, lightning and 72-degree dew points

Three local conditions shape the recommendation. At Jacksonville Beach, Mayport and Amelia Island, we specify coated coils and protected cabinets because salt spray shortens the life of anything uncoated. Across the city, we add a surge protector at the disconnect because Northeast Florida lightning runs well above the national average and control boards are the first casualty. And everywhere, we favor variable-speed and two-stage equipment, because long, low runs pull more moisture out of the air than an oversized single-stage unit cycling on and off.

On riverfront lots in San Marco, Riverside and Ortega, the product conversation includes a stand to lift the condenser above the base flood elevation.

Rebate-eligible tiers under JEA

JEA’s Heating & Cooling rebate pays $200 on ENERGY STAR equipment that meets its efficiency line, applied on our invoice, and a $50 rebate covers an ENERGY STAR smart thermostat. The written quote will show which Lennox options qualify and whether the program year is accepting applications. In the Baker County portions served by Clay Electric, a heat pump rebate has been available to members; tell us your utility and the quote will reflect it.

Product questions from Jacksonville

Which Lennox tier clears JEA's 16 SEER2 rebate line?

Several do; the rebate threshold for a split system is 16 SEER2, 11.0 EER2 and 8.0 HSPF2, and we’ll mark on the quote which options qualify. Whether the program year is open at the time you buy is a separate question we’ll answer honestly.

Do you stock Lennox parts on the Jacksonville trucks?

The common ones, yes: capacitors, contactors, motors, boards for current models. Less common parts come from the Fairmont Lane inventory or the distributor, and we’ll tell you the lead time rather than guess.

Is there a Lennox product for a Springfield house with no attic space?

Ductless mini-splits are the usual answer, and a compact air handler in a closet with small ducts is sometimes possible. We’ll look at the house before naming the product.
